Laura Melgar García earned a Biomedical Engineering Degree at the University of Seville in 2017. Afterwards, she received a Master in Software Engineering at the University of Seville in 2018. Nowadays, she is a PhD student in Computer Science at University Pablo de Olavide in Seville (since 2019) where she is working as a researcher in the Data Science and Big Data Lab.
She has done 2 internships related with software and machine learning techniques applied to medical data at Oblumi S.L (Seville) and at Aptus Health International France SAS (Paris). Later, Laura Melgar García worked as an Assistant Research Engineer at the Department of Systems and Languages at the University of Seville for one year.
During her academic period, she has done 2 international stays: 10 months during the 3rd year of her degree at Politecnico of Milan (Italy) and 10 months during her Master at University of Paris 8 (France).
Her major fields of research are data streaming, evolutionary computing, (bio)medical data analysis and bioinformatics.
